DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER
Diamonds are the oldest gems in the world and in some cases more than 100 million years old. The more carats a diamond weighs, the more it is rare and valuable.
One carat is about 0.2 grams and is divided into 100 points. A 25 point diamond therefore weighs 0.25 carats.
How to care for diamonds
- Store diamonds wrapped individually in soft cloths.
- Remove when doing manual work, since the stones can be chipped by a sharp blow.
- Regular cleaning will maintain the sparkle. Put the item in a container with lukewarm water and a mild soap for 30 minutes. Then wash gently using a soft toothbrush, rinse in lukewarm water and dry carefully with a soft cloth.
- Careful: A damaged setting cannot hold the stone securely, so depending on wear, have the piece checked once or twice a year by a CHRIST specialist.
